  • 20 Mule Team Borax – found in the laundry aisle
  • A 5-gallon bucket for pre-dissolving chemicals
  • A wooden stir stick (the reaction generates heat—don't use your hand)

Here's an insider trick. You can find this in the laundry aisle of almost any grocery store. It raises pH with a much smaller impact on Alkalinity than Soda Ash.
