Hey there, and welcome back to the Pool Nerd. I’m Justin, your resident pool aficionado. And today, I am going to be talking about the Dolphin ProLine. If you’re looking for a robotic pool cleaner, this is where you’ll want to start. So what makes Dolphin ProLine robots so great? Dolphin’s ProLine robots have more powerful motors, more features, better filters, and a longer warranty, and never have a restocking fee. These robots in the ProLine are the Dolphin Premier, Dolphin Sigma, and Dolphin Quantum.

So let’s jump right into the ProLine. Starting off, every Proline robot has waterline cleaning. All robots clean the floor, some clean partial walls. Most robots are not capable of cleaning the waterline.Proline robots are made to clean under and above the waterline. This is commonly callled the scumline and is often one of the most problematic areas of any pool.

Commercial Grade Motors

The Dolphin Sigma and Dolphin Premier from the ProLine robots include commercial grade motors. From the Premier’s dual motors to Sigma’s triple motors, these powerful motors provide more power, more suction and and better precision compared to standard models. I’ve noticed exceptional cleaning performance from all of them, and without a doubt, these units surpass nearly all other pool robots I have tested.

These big, powerful motors help the units waterline clean in your pool. A feature that is absent from 90% of pool robots of today.Based on comment I’ve received, a lot of buyers get wall cleaning and waterline cleaning confused. Waterline cleaning is different than wall climbing.

Waterline is when the units actively scrub and can move across the waterline. This is largely thanks to the ProLine’s Dual Stabilizers on the Dolphin Premier and Dolphin Sigma, and the PowerJet 3D Mobility on the Dolphin Quantum. The dual stabilzers act not only as a handle, but also power the robot and allow it to adhere to the pool walls. And the PowerJet 3D mobility on the Quantum, pushes it laterally across the waterline ensuring it cleans your whole pool.

NanoFiltration™

Proline robots have another very beneficial addition – NanoFiltration. The Proline’s exclusive NanoFilters are much more capable than standard mesh filters These pleated, small pore m filters capture far more than the standard filters.

Small particles pass right through the standard filter and recirculates in your pool water. Small debris like pollen, algae and pet dander gets captured and removedwith NanoFilters. This makes a major difference in water quality. After a few days of Nanfilter cleaning, you’ll see a reduction in turbidity and an improvmeent in in water clarity

Multi-Media™

Now the Dolphin Premier goes a step further with MultiMedia. In addition to the Nanofilter, Premier includes an oversized Leaf Bag and disposable leaf and debris bags. Multimedia is exclusive to the Premier and not found in any other Dolphin robot. I found myself using a combination of the two. There is a reason why I rated the Premier the pool robot of the year – this is why.

With its Multimedia filtration, you can swap between 4 filter options in seconds so you can customize your pool’s clean every time. Have cloudy water? Use the NanoFilter. Have a bunch of leaves? Use the Leaf Bag.

No Restocking Fee

Lastly, when shopping for the ProLine, you’ll notice it is one of the only robots without a restocking fee. With some sellers and robots, you can incur a 15-20% restocking fee without ever even using the box. Sellers of the ProLine are not allowed to charge a restocking fee and they all boast even a 30 day free trial – which is super nice to see.

My Thoughts on the ProLine

Dolphin really stepped up their game with the new Dolphin ProLine. It seems the combination of commercial motors and NanoFiltration, really take these cleaners to a whole other level. After testing all the top robotic pool cleaners in my pool, the ProLine stands out as the best Dolphin pool robots I've ever tested.

Why Pool Owners Trust The Pool Nerd

We're not a big media company. We're a small, independent team that actually gets in the water and tests this stuff.

Tested in Real Pools

Every robot, pump, and skimmer gets run in our test pool under real-world conditions. Not a lab. Not a demo tank. Dirt, leaves, algae — the works.

Side-by-Side Comparisons

We don't review products in isolation. We test them head-to-head so you can see exactly how they stack up against the competition.

5+ Years of Experience

We've been testing pool products since 2020 — through every season, firmware update, and product launch. That depth of experience means we know what holds up and what doesn't.

Our Testing Process

1
Hands-on pool testing

We run each product through multiple cleaning cycles in our test pool — floors, walls, waterlines, and filtration all get evaluated.

2
Head-to-head comparisons

Products go up against their direct competitors so you see real differences, not just marketing specs.

3
Final verdicts

We publish what we find — good and bad. If a $500 robot beats a $2,000 one, we'll tell you.
