There are three big upgrades I want to talk about. And they all matter.
1. The Smart Power Supply
First up, the Quantum Pro ships with Dolphin's newer Wi-Fi enabled smart power supply — the one that allows you to use the MyDolphin Plus app. This is the same power brick I've raved about on the Sigma, and I'm glad they've added it to the Quantum.
Here's the thing — and this matters: you still get the weekly timer functionality built right into the power supply, even if you never download the app. That's huge. Because in my experience, a lot of pool owners just want to plug the thing in, hit a button, and let it clean every week automatically. They don't want to mess with Wi-Fi setup or another app on their phone.
With the Quantum Pro, you've got both options. App control if you want it. Plug-and-play if you don't. That's how it should be.
2. Wi-Fi & The MyDolphin Plus App
This is where the Quantum Pro takes a real step up from the original Quantum.
Through the MyDolphin Plus app, you can schedule cleanings, switch between cleaning modes, spot-clean specific areas of your pool, and even manually steer the robot around like an underwater RC car. It's the same app the Sigma uses — and in my opinion, it's one of the best pool robot apps on the market right now.
Here's the best part — Dolphin's app actually works while it cleans underwater. I've tested a lot of cordless robot apps from Beatbot, Aiper, and Wybot, and most of them are clunky, laggy, and disconnect from the moment they are submerged underwater. The MyDolphin Plus app is rock solid. Mine connects every time. I can start a clean from my couch, or from across the country if I'm on vacation.

3. Sun Shelf & Step Cleaning
Okay — this is the upgrade that surprised me the most.
The Quantum Pro is specifically engineered to clean shallow sun shelves, baja ledges, and pool steps — even in water as shallow as around 12 inches. And if you own a modern inground pool, this is the spot where every other robot completely tanks.
Most pool robots either beach themselves up on the ledge, lose traction, or just refuse to climb up there at all. But the Quantum is different.
In my testing, the Quantum Pro actually goes up the steps. It can clean the baja ledge then come back down. It does its job. It's not perfect — but it gets the job done. It's one of the first robots I've tested that even attempts to clean it. For pools with baja ledges, that's a massive deal.
What It Still Has — The ProLine DNA
Maytronics didn't just bolt new features onto this thing. They kept everything that made the Quantum platform reliable in the first place.
The XXL MaxBin
They kept the XXL MaxBin. And I can't tell you how glad I am that they did.
This is one of my favorite Dolphin features. The XXL MaxBin holds way more debris than the baskets you'll find on most cordless robots. If you deal with leaves, pollen, oak tassels, bugs, or any kind of heavy debris load — and most of us do at some point in the season — the XXL MaxBin makes a huge difference.
And it's top-loading. So no flipping the robot over, no wrestling with awkward latches. Pop the lid, lift the basket, rinse it out, snap it back in. Done.
NanoFilters & Standard Filters
The Quantum Pro still gives you Dolphin's interchangeable filtration. Standard mesh filters for larger debris, and the pleated Gen-2 NanoFilters for the fine stuff — dirt, sand, algae dust, pollen, the whole works.
Both of these are included in the box.
And let me say this again because it matters: Dolphin's NanoFilters are still the best filtration system in the industry. Period. A lot of these newer cordless brands market "ultra-fine filtration," but when you shine a light through their filter screens, you can literally see how much debris would slip right through. The NanoFilters? Night and day difference. In my side-by-side testing, they grab particles the standard filter doesn't even see.
Swivel Cable
Yes — the anti-tangle swivel cable is still here. And if you've ever owned a robot without one, you know how important this is. Cable tangles will absolutely destroy your coverage patterns over time. You'll start finding the robot stranded in the middle of the pool because it ran out of cable. Swivel cable solves that.
HyperBrush Active Scrubbing
The Quantum Pro keeps Dolphin's active HyperBrush scrubbing system. This allows the Quantum's front brush to spin 2 times faster than other Dolphin models.
This isn't a passive brush that just drags along the floor — it actively spins and scrubs as the robot moves, breaking loose stuck-on dirt, algae, and biofilm before the suction grabs it.
This is one of the biggest reasons Dolphin robots continue to embarrass cordless robots in real-world cleaning tests. A passive brush vacuum will pick up debris that's already loose. A HyperBrush scrubber actually does the work of cleaning.
SmartNav & PowerStream
Under the hood, Maytronics updated the navigation logic on this generation, and you can feel it. The Quantum Pro feels more deliberate and a lot less random than older models. Coverage patterns are tighter. Wall transitions are smoother. And when it bumps into a drain, a bench, or a weird corner of your pool, it recovers faster instead of just spinning around lost.
It's paired with Dolphin's PowerStream 3D mobility system, which is what gives it that aggressive grip on the walls and waterline. Honestly, this thing feels futuristic compared to older Dolphin models.

These are the robots designed like Dolphin's commercial-grade platform — similar to what you'll find on their Wave commercial cleaners that sell for $2,000 to $8,000 to public pools and resorts. More suction. Better wall climbing. Longer-lasting components. Longer warranties.
The Max-Series is the value tier. That's the Cayman, the Escape, and Quantum Pro.
And yes, the Quantum is included in both.
These are still excellent robots — the Cayman is one of the best values in the pool industry right now — but they're built with residential-grade motors instead of commercial-grade. Two-year warranties. Smaller pool ratings. They get the job done at a much lower price point.
